MY DOCUMENTARY VIDEOS Airstreamin’ and Shack Time will be shown on a large screen at Easthampton Media Saturday, November 1, on a continuous loop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Airstreamin’ (30 minutes) is a deep dive into a 1994 convention of Airstream trailers at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
Shack Time (25 minutes) tells the story of the artist shacks in the dunes of the Cape Cod National Seashore through the voices of late shack owners Laura Fowler, Zara Ofsevit Jackson, and Ray Wells; with two Walker Evans photographs, including a stunning portrait of late shack owner Hazel Hawthorne Werner; readings by Annie Dillard and Cynthia Huntington; and a rare photo of Jack Kerouac in the dunes. Chosen for the 2001 New England Film and Video Festival, Shack Time aired regionally on PBS affiliate WGBH-TV in Boston.
Saturday, November 1, and Sunday, November 2, are also the final dates for my current painting exhibition at Easthampton Media, “Merging Landscapes.” Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days during Eastworks’ weekend open house.
Located at the east entrance of the Eastworks building at 116 Pleasant Street, Easthampton, Massachusetts, Easthampton Media is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
