THE ROBUST GREENS OF SUMMER fade to shades of dust and rust by late autumn, in the days before the field of corn is abruptly sheared six inches above the soil. Late afternoon sun illuminates a deep sea of reddish stalks that sway gently as their slender, brittle leaves whisper and whistle in the wind.

In addition to this watercolor study, I made four paintings, each a different size, using the same palette, followed by a series of linoprints. I will be posting these over the next few weeks.
