I suppose that an ultraconservative, say a Tea Party member, might interpret it as a protest against “government intrusion.” A liberal, on the other hand, might say that it is telling us simply to stop: stop driving, stop polluting, stop “developing,” etc. I prefer the latter reading.
I, too, prefer the latter view … or simply, stop and think, whoever you are, about where you are and what you are doing (and by the way consider the iconic octagon and typography). Thanks for the feedback.
