I AM PLEASED to announce my next solo exhibit, at Elusie Gallery, 43 Main St., Old Town Hall, Easthampton, Massachusetts, September 5 through October 3, with an opening reception Saturday, September 12. Details to follow.
Landscapes take infinite forms: literal and fanciful, rural and urban, cluttered and spare, inner and outer, shared and personal, all capable of changing in the beat of a heart, the turn of a head, the blink of an eye.
The last painting, “Legs,” might also be called “Blue Fusion,” since it began with a range of mostly blue colors arranged to create interesting patterns and juxtapositions. But when it reached this stage, I could not help seeing the two vertical columns as a pair of skinny legs seen from behind, with all of the movement and energy of a child, perhaps, or a runner.
