‘Molly’s 17 Rules’ Now Available as a Book

BROOK HOLLOW PRESS is pleased to announce the release of Molly’s 17 Rules for Living: Words to Live by from a Canine Bodhisattva

The photos of Molly, a rescue lab mix, in a variety of poses were taken over the past decade by Bar Lois Weeks and Russell Steven Powell. Powell wrote and Weeks edited the text, and Chris Rob Weeks assisted with the design.

Inspired by the reaction to a blog post of Powell’s in May, Molly’s Rules has been reorganized and includes new photos and new and revised text.

This is Powell’s sixth book and third collaboration with Weeks. She was the photographer for America’s Apple and Apples of New England

In some ways Molly’s Rules is a bit of a departure from apples and Powell’s previous titles like Living Without Lawn. Yet its themes of love and the primacy of nature and the physical senses are present throughout the book — values needed more than ever as people cope with the pandemic, climate change, and social and racial justice.

In these troubled and uncertain times, the positive messages embodied by this loving, expressive pup will be appreciated by young and old alike.

Molly’s 17 Rules is available in hardcover or softcover from Amazon or Silver Street Media
