I love to paint, but there is no denying that there is a therapeutic aspect to it as well, and painting also serves as an antidote to the despair often hovering at the ravages of our nation. I like the first and the last painting, “Summer 2020” because you have really given them layers of interesting directional lines in busy hot colors showing the heat and chaos of this 2020 summer. The second painting “Dikes at Dusk” uses the same depth of marks but in cooler evening colors. The layering of marks and swirls makes these paintings much richer and I like them a lot.
