  1. Russell, these are beautiful paintings. I lived in the Dominican Republic for some years in my “earlier life.” These images brought back such memories. We also spent time in Puerto Rico. A beautiful country and such lovely people. I especially love “beach shade.” The color of the water is just how I remember it.

    1. Thank you so much! This was my first visit to PR; I spent time in Haiti and Jamaica some years back, so parts of it felt new, some familiar. Same with watercolors: I had not painted with them for some time, and it was great to become reacquainted with their properties. What a privilege!

    1. Thank you! I saw your beautiful painting on driftwood while there, and we managed a great visit with the artist Samuel Lind in his studio. His work is stunning, and prolific! A great gift to spend a week in warmth and water.
