I WILL BE EATING, breathing, speaking, and dreaming apples for the next few weeks, beginning with the 17-day Eastern States Exposition (“The Big E”), which opens tomorrow, Friday, September 12. I will be staffing the New England Apples booth in the Massachusetts Building; if you are visiting the fair, please stop by and say hello.
We will have fresh apples, cider, and baked goods for sale, and I will be signing copies of my new book, Apples of New England. I will be happy to try and answer any questions you may have, and I am interested in hearing about your favorite apple varieties, recipes, family connections, and traditions.
I will not be able to pick up a paintbrush during this time, and undoubtedly when I resume in October my new paintings will have a different character than the ones I have been working on now.
Here are a few of the recent ones.
